Multinationals set their sights on Mexico due to the Lithium deposit

The discovery of a Lithium deposit in the area between Chihuahua and Sonora, caused multinational companies to set their sights on Mexico, as it is ranked among the largest there is.

This reserve is approximately 243 million tons, which would be exceeding 21 million tons of the Uyuni field in Bolivia, considered one of the largest lithium betas currently exploited.

Mexico has failed to exploit this reserve, so companies such as Bacanora Lithium of Canada, and Ganfeng Lithium of China, have shown interest in the exploitation of said mineral, which is currently used in the manufacture of batteries, as well as in the manufacture of glass and ceramics, polymer production, among others.
