Hotel occupancy falls 40% from its high, the next pickup in the activity will be for the Grand Marathon
Mazatlan Sinaloa.- As planned, the revolutionary long weekend generated Mazatlan an occupation of 100% in the hotels located on Del Mar Avenue; José Ramón Manguart Sánchez confirmed.
The President of the Tres Islas Hotels Association said that this Monday the number of rooms occupied fell 40%, and the next rebound will be for the 2019 Grand Marathon, which will take place on November 30 and December 1.
He commented that the expectation for the long weekend was fulfilled since the concept of the Good Weekend again benefited the sector with the packages and promotions that were given around it.
This bridge has always been good for Mazatlan and this year was no exception, most of the occupation was concentrated between Saturday and Sunday, and on Monday they returned to their happy places of origin because they are already six consecutive years in the growth of hotel occupancy
He explained that the tourism that arrived at the weekend most came via the highway of Durango, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Nuevo León, Nayarit, Jalisco, Mexico City, as well as municipalities such as Culiacán and Ahome.
Manguart Sánchez said that tourism activity reactivates the local economy in an important way, since restaurants increase their occupation, public transport and sales in shops.
Tourists take advantage of their stay at the port to perform different activities, such as touring the Malecon, climbing the Lighthouse, visiting the Historic Center and enjoying the beach, and that makes the bonanza reach everyone
WHAT IS COMING
As of this Monday, the occupation fell to 40% levels, however, for the weekends an 80% rebound is planned, and for the Marathon, they estimate a higher occupation of 90%.
