So far in 2019, Volaris has transported 14 million 489 thousand passengers, representing an increase of 20.8% compared to last year.
In addition, this figure consolidates Volaris as the most important airline in Mexico in the number of passengers transported both nationally and internationally since Aeromexico has presented a drop in passenger volumes in both areas, with 13 million 997 thousand (minus 4.8 % compared to the previous year).
The load factor was 85.6 Volaris%, up 1.5% compared to 2018. On the other hand, supply, measured in seats per available mile (ASM) has grown 16.9% and demand, measured in passengers reserved per mile, has grown 18.9%.
“The healthy and significant growth in capacity was due to better use of aircraft and strong demand for passengers in the national and international market, ” said Enrique Beltranena, executive president of the Mexican airline.
During August, Volaris debuted three new international routes: two from San Salvador to Mexico City and Guadalajara and one from León, Guanajuato to Fresno, California.
Similarly, the airline received two new A320neo aircraft and expects to end the third quarter of the year with a total fleet of 80 aircraft.
