The body of the environmentalist Nora López León was found on Wednesday in a room of a hostel located near the Los Taxistas neighborhood, in the municipality of Palenque, Chiapas.
According to local media, the body had several wounds allegedly caused by a knife.
The biologist Nora López was in charge of the project for the reproduction of the red macaw in the Aluxes Ecotourism Park.
So far, state authorities have not issued any statement regarding these events.
