Mexico exported to the world more than 52.3 million dollars every hour in the first half of 2019, which represents a historical level, according to INEGI data.

Exports per hour recorded in the referred period mean an increase of 3.6 percent over the first six months of 2018; and an increase of 15.1 percent compared to the same period of 2017.

Of the more than 227.2 billion dollars of exports in the first half of the year, 13.8 billion dollars correspond to oil exports and more than 213.3 billion dollars to non-oil. Of the total non-oil exports, more than 81.8 percent were concentrated in the United States.

“I think that part of the trade with the United States is undoubtedly due to what is being taken as a result of the trade war with China; another part is due to a certainty scenario, where you already have T-MEC , although it has not entered into force, but you already know what can happen, companies are starting to disburse money that was being saved, ”said Juan Carlos Baker , former Undersecretary of Foreign Trade, in an interview.

The product most exported by Mexico to the United States in the first five months of the year, the period until which the Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade has a statistical record, are vehicles, tractors, passenger cars and other vehicles with an alternative piston engine, whose sales amounted to 10 thousand 433 million dollars.

In second place are the digital process units, for example, data processing and recording machines. The third product that Mexico sells most to its northern neighbor are vehicles for transporting merchandise.
