Mazatlan seeks to reestablish a relationship with Sister City in Germany

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- With the commitment to create close ties with cities around the world for cultural exchange, the mayor of Mazatlan, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres announced that he is close to concretizing the sister city agreement with the city of Hamm in Germany, which for many years was already connected with but this agreement was abandoned.

“In fact we are already doing it, from the first day we sent letters, we had an answer from the city of Hamm in Germany, surprised because nobody in these years had sought a communication with them, we sent him a present and they sent us photos that we will publish later where is thanking the gesture of the city of Mazatlan, ”he said.

Benítez Torres explained that they will be traveling to Germany to have a close approach with that city which does not reach 200,000 inhabitants.

“We are going to look for them to come or go to strengthen communication, that is not of letterhead, that they are real,” he said.

The ‘Chemist’ Benitez stressed that the port will earn a lot with this and 14 other sister cities that are being looked at with Latin American cities, the United States, Canada and of course Germany itself.

“First of all, it strengthens the identity of both cities, exchanging our strengths, gastronomy, culture, inviting them to live in Mazatlan, they were surprised in Hamm because they don’t know where Mazatlan is, so we are going to seek to bring those cities to visit them in a tour and look for the relationship of all kinds, ”he concluded.
