Mexican Caribbean promotes its self in Canada and the United Kingdom

As part of the promotional actions of the tourist destinations of the Mexican Caribbean, the CPTQ participated during June, in seminars, trade shows and caravans in different cities of Canada and the United Kingdom where work appointments were made with tour operators, travel agents, and media to help more tourists arrive in Quintana Roo.

Canada and the United Kingdom are two of the strategic markets of the Mexican Caribbean. Recently, it was announced that Canadian tourism grew from January to May of this year 8.77 percent compared to the same period 2018 however, tourists from the United Kingdom showed a decrease during the first quarter, but a considerable recovery in April and May of 4.16 and 2.24 percent respectively, according to the National Institute of Migration compared, with both months of last year.

CPTQ participated in ELA 2019 (Experience Latin America), an event organized by LATA (Latin American Travel Association in the United Kingdom) from June 10 to 13, and brought together key Latin American suppliers with buyers from the United Kingdom and Europe, with an agenda of 15 appointments per day and 6 training seminars, resulting in: 45 work appointments with tour operators, travel agents who were given material from both physical and digital destinations, as well as interviews with the media, to publicize the news of the Mexican Caribbean.

Meanwhile in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver, Canada, the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo participated in the annual Transat Product Showcase 2019 event, organized by the Canadian tour operator Transat, from June 18 to 20, which consisted of a series of trade shows before more than 600 travel agents, from the Transat database and who were informed about the tourist destinations of Quintana Roo.

They also showed great interest in acquiring promotional material, such as maps and destination guides, tools created especially for travel agents and tour operators.

When attending events of this profile, it seeks to consolidate the promotion plan for the second most important foreign market for Quintana Roo: Canada. (Americans and Canadians 50% of tourists from the Riviera Maya ).

From June 25 to 27, CPTQ participated through the promotional director Lizzie Cole, at the Mexico Summer Reception Caravan in England, together with the Xcaret Mexico, Sandos, Grand Velas, Viceroy hotels and the AM Resorts hotels.
