The best cities to live in Mexico in 2019

2018

As it happens in this type of rankings, there is more than one list that aims to publicize the cities that are the best in Mexico. Some of these lists consider aspects such as opportunities to do business, tourism level, access to certain life satisfiers, etc., so that sometimes only business or political promotion aspects are considered to determine an evaluation, but they are left out. the most interesting: the perception of the people who live in the cities.

In the following list, the company that developed it is Mexican and considered comparative information, current and methodologically valid to measure the perception of the quality of life of those who inhabit those cities. They also measured the degree of satisfaction with the public services provided by municipalities and mayorships, the evaluation of mayors and social cohesion; with this, a valid comparator was obtained to have the best cities to live in Mexico in 2019. The aspects evaluated in this year were:

  • Evaluation and performance of mayors.
  • Satisfaction with municipal services.
  • Quality of life.
  • Social cohesion.
  • Net Promoter Score of the city (if people would recommend their city or not live in it).

Top 1: Cities with the best quality of life

Yucatán was the most peaceful state in Mexico in 2016, followed by Nayarit, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo, and Coahuila. The southern region of Mexico has been typically more peaceful than the northern border and the Pacific coast. Yucatan stands out because the assessment indicates that its peace index is twice the regional average. During 2016, the state obtained an exceptional rating on indicators of homicide and firearms offenses, with the lowest homicide rate in the country. While the national homicide rate reached 16.8 deaths per 100,000 population, that of Yucatán was 2.8, according to the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP).
