Tourist falls asleep and crashes into parked cars in Mazatlan


A tourist from Coahuila, apparently in a drunken state, fell asleep on Camarón Sábalo Avenue, which caused him to hit two parked vehicles. 

Mazatlan, Sinaloa .- Excess speed and the combination with alcohol was the wrong mix for a young man from the state of Coahuila, because he fell asleep and lost control of his vehicle, this caused a crash with thousands in material losses, in Camarón Sábalo avenue, located in the Sabalo Country neighborhood at approximately 06:00 hours. 

The units involved are a Nissan Versa with plates from Coahuila, the alleged person responsible for the accident, and two Volkswagens one Jetta and the other a Tiguan with Jalisco license plates, both white vehicles that were parked.

According to the version of some witnesses who at that time were exercising the driver of the Versa driving from south to north by the aforementioned route and lost control of the unit and crashed against a transformer box, later he hit the Jetta, then he crashed with the Tiguan pressed between a concrete post, a palm tree and the Tiguan. 

The tourist fell asleep, which caused the accident. 

” I’m here since the accident happened, I’ve always said that these young people are not afraid now, how do you dare to walk on this ave, people constant speeding on this ave, thank goodness no one was seriously injured, and the young person is well for the moment “said a Nicolás, a resident of the Sábalo Country subdivision.

Little by little the place was filled with onlookers and they asked themselves how the accident had happened, they started taking some photos to record and others stopped their cars to appreciate the accident.

There were no people injured because two of the cars were empty, the driver of the Versa only had a wound on his face and left on his own. 

An ambulance from a private clinic that is located a few meters from the accident site came to the place but there was no need to move the subject.

Shortly after the owners of the cars involved who claim to have a bus travel agency who quickly called their insurers.

Tourist Police at the scene took charge of picking up car parts from the road accident.

There was no need to move the cars to the municipal tow yard because everyone had their insurance which had already requested the tow trucks to transfer them to the corresponding workshop.

Once the agreement with the three insurers was reached, the agents of the Tourist Police left the place.
