The mayor of El Rosario, Manuel Antonio Pineda, and the director of Social Tourism of the Sectur, Jesus Trinidad Osuna, led the press conference where the mayor announced the 21-kilometer half-marathon “Carrera de San Pedro” in its seventh edition in the union of Chametla, next June 9.

The organization includes Father Rafael Tena, parish priest of the Church of San Pedro Apóstol, also a marathon runner, who said that last year some 640 athletes participated and that for this year the number is expected to be exceeded. There are foreign guests from Kenya and the United States of America, as well as from many states of the Republic.

He said that the inscriptions are 300 pesos and that the half marathon will be from Chametla until before the tracks and back, and that the fair will involve men and women and young children who will run from 50 to 500 meters. Adults the half marathon of 21 kilometers and will have to distribute a bag of 50 thousand pesos. People with different abilities were invited to run.

Mayor Pineda said that safety is guaranteed in the race and that in the past few years there has been “white balance” and very good attendance and participation of the athletes and the population of Chametla itself.

Karla Camacho, director of the Pacific Marathon, participated in the press conference. She congratulated the organizers of this event and said that the winners will have an automatic pass to the Pacific Marathon.
