Vicky Ibarra Rojas pointed out that this plaque comes to free the municipal spaces of discrimination, whatever the reason
Mazatlan, Sinaloa .- In the framework of the celebration of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transfobium, and Biphobia, Mazatlan unveiled a plaque on the walls of the City Council where it is declared inclusive and free of any type of discrimination that prevents the enjoyment and exercise of Human rights.
Vicky Ibarra Rojas, representative of the LGBT Sinaloense Coalition and the Inclusion Collective, pointed out that these actions, such as the plaque and putting the community’s flag on the Avenida del Mar, come to free the spaces of discrimination; Tolerance and rights are gained step by step, he said.
Mazatlan Inclusive make us visible with the pedestrian crossing with the rainbow flag that was painted on the boardwalk, it is an exercise of visibility very important for our city, because Mazatlan is a tourist port, we are visited by many people from other states, from other countries and it is very important that tourists see that everyone is welcome in Mazatlan.

The Mayor, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, said that this plaque includes all Mazatlecos, since the government has a clear policy of inclusion and tolerance. In addition, actions are being taken that do not leave anyone ‘out’.
“This policy is also part of the national context, according to what our President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, recently announced. In favor of liberties and rights, of the community, of sexual diversity, in the fight against homophobia, bisophobia and transphobia. “
