For the first time in its history of participation, Mexico ranks among the Top 10 of the Award Winning Countries of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
Mexico is also awarded the special trophy for the “Vinho Tinto Revelación Mundial 2019”. This is “Caipirinha 2016”, produced in Baja California by the El Cielo winery.
The jury, made up of more than 340 experts from the international wine industry, recognized with labels of Silver, Gold and Grand Gold labels from 43 different countries.
Mexico’s participation is historic, not only because of the total number of products tasted within the event, but also because of the number of medals and special trophies achieved this year.
A total of 172 wines from Baja California, Coahuila, Queretaro, Chihuahua, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, and San Luis Potosi competed in the fair, breaking for the third consecutive year the record of Mexican participation in the world championship. In the end, 39 national labels managed to win medals thanks to their technical precision and sensory expression.
