Mazatlan.- With the sighting of 2 thousand 226 species between flora and fauna, 27 thousand observations, and 511 observers, Mazatlan managed to position itself in the first place of the Urbano Mexico Urban Challenge, held from April 26 to 29 in the port and surrounding places .
In the press conference held this morning by Pacos Reserva, in which the Secretariat of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries, the Directorate of Ecology, Regidores, and the CIAD participated, it was also announced that the records of some of the species, examples of these are: the Otter of the River and the Bat Drop Single.
Faced with this result and foreseeing that the next challenge to be achieved in 2020 will have greater participation of nature observers from around the world, the municipal government, which was a key element in this achievement, undertook to preserve and improve the conditions of the natural areas, of course with the help of citizens.
David González Torrentera, Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries, said that this type of activities will ensure that Mazatlán is positioned as a destination for ecological and adventure tourism.
