Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- A very special beginning of the year saw about three thousand Mazatlecos and visitors at Paseo Olas Altas, celebrating the arrival of the new year in the middle of “Welcome 2019, New Year Celebration”, an event organized by the City Council and the Institute of Culture.

Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres and Mrs. Gabriela Peña Chico, president of the municipal DIF System, attended the magna party at the end of the year. They were accompanied by relatives, friends, council members and municipal officials.

In his message, the mayor said that this first end-of-year event turned out to be a success since the acceptance of the population was observed from the day it was announced.

“It is a total success, we hope next year it will be even better, and I take this opportunity to wish all the Mazatlecans a happy 2019,” he said.

To the rhythm of the Falsa Orquesta Cubana and the versatile group MazShow, from El Venadito to el Escudo, dozens of souls danced salsa, chachachá, cumbia, and merengue, in a perfect blend of joy and family togetherness.

From 9:00 p.m. on December 31, 2018 to 02:00 a.m. on January 1, 2019, the Paseo Olas Altas became the perfect place to start with the “right foot” the new year.
