José de Jesús Garay, director of Public Works, stressed that it is a priority to attend the patching for the Marathon

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The requirement of the last administration for the construction company Trewartha to respond with the rehabilitation of the damaged geocells of the first remodeling stage of the Mazatlan Lighthouse , prior to the start of the work of a second stage, only remained in words.

According to the Public Works Department of the Municipality , there is no contract for such rehabilitation, but there is still enough time to claim the response.

This is because, in addition to the year after the date of delivery of the work that is established to apply the bond corresponding to hidden defects, an additional margin of six months is given to demand the solution to those vices, explained Juan de Dios Garay Velázquez, Director of Public Works.

From the delivery of the work applies the bond for hidden defects that has to do with a time of one year after the delivery of the work, we are still in that condition, after completing that year we can still in the following six months demand the solution to vices that have arisen in the year after delivery. Juan de Dios Garay Velázquez, director of Public Works.

Currently, the collection of the deposit will also remain on hold because, said Garay Velázquez, there are other works that demand higher priority, such as the conclusion of the Malecón and the patching of the main avenues, both longitudinally and transversally of the city.

“We have not defined the presence of a rehabilitation contract, it is something that we will also have to do, right now it is in our interest but there are also many other works, some of them priority, for example the Stadium is underway, there will be than to receive it and that one is going to touch us to sign for it and for that we are worrying right now, and we are worrying about the Del Mar avenue to be prepared for the Marathon, “he said.

However, he stressed that this does not mean that the work goes into the background in the order of attention and with the capacity that is in the Directorate, everything that can be taken care of.

It does not happen in the background but the operative capacity of us right now is focused on those works that is immediate, we have for example the issue of potholes. It does not happen in the background but we have a city in that sense with many problems and then we will have to attend to the priority, and now the priority in terms of potholes is to rehabilitate the areas of more traffic and prepare it for the Marathon, which requires us an index of first level engineering services. Juan de Dios Garay Velázquez, director of Public Works.

Finally, he affirmed that there is no information about the work of the second stage at the Mazatlan Lighthouse.
