The president of the Mazatlán National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco-Servytur), Francisca Cázarez Oliveros, announced the hotel occupancy results for Holy Week 2026, reporting an overall average of 75 percent occupancy in the city’s hotels.

During the week, from Sunday, March 29, to Thursday, April 2, occupancy reached 68 percent, while on the busiest days, Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4, it climbed to 93 percent, Cázarez Oliveros noted.

Regarding the visitor experience, tourists highlighted the accessibility, safety, beaches, gastronomy, boardwalk, and the friendliness of Mazatlán residents. However, they identified areas for improvement such as lack of cleanliness, insufficient signage, transportation prices (open-air taxis and horse-drawn carriages), and the need for more public restrooms. Some also mentioned high prices at certain tourist attractions.

The main visitors came from Central and Northern Sinaloa, Mexico City, Jalisco, Baja California, Nuevo León, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, the United States, and Canada, according to the president of the Chamber of Commerce.

Cázarez Oliveros noted that the hotel sector offered discounts of up to 30 percent, eliminated restrictions, and offered promotional packages, although these measures were not enough to reach the projected occupancy target.

Finally, she thanked the thousands of tourists who chose Mazatlán as their favorite destination, reinforcing the city’s position as one of the country’s leading beach destinations during the holiday season.
