During September, the port will receive five international cruise ships. Added to the 66 that already arrived from January to August, the total will reach 71 cruise ships by the end of the ninth month of the year, said Mireya Sosa Osuna, Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa.

“The presence of cruise ship passengers in Mazatlán benefits businesses, restaurants, and tourism and transportation service providers, which greatly strengthens the local economy,” she emphasized.

For now, the port of Mazatlán welcomed the Carnival Panorama cruise ship this Wednesday with 4,249 passengers and 1,429 crew members on board, as part of its La Paz-Mazatlán-Puerto Vallarta itinerary.

On September 1, the first ship of the month, the Navigator of the Seas, arrived with 3,583 passengers and 1,248 crew members.

The ship visited the port to continue its La Paz-Mazatlán-Puerto Vallarta itinerary, estimating that it generated revenue exceeding 6 million pesos.

The second visit was the Carnival Panorama ship, arriving on September 3 with around 5,000 passengers.

On September 17, the Carnival Panorama arrived again in Mazatlán, reactivating the port’s economy.

This is a Vista-class cruise ship from Carnival Cruise Line with more than 5,000 passengers and crew on board.

However, tourist cruises not only benefit various sectors of the local economy, but their arrival in the city also becomes a spectacle for the local population, who take videos and photographs.

The Carnival Panorama is the third of five ships scheduled to arrive in September along the Mexican Pacific Riviera route.

This cruise ship was built in 2019 and offers entertainment and fun for all audiences with facilities such as the WaterWorks water park and the SkyRide attraction. It sails from the Port of Long Beach to the Mexican Riviera and has a capacity for approximately 5,000 passengers, including 3,000 passengers and 1,200 crew members.

This type of tourism generates significant economic benefits for various tourism service segments, including restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues, as well as jewelry stores and the beaches of Mazatlán.

The cruise industry will welcome the next two arrivals on September 22 and 30.
