As part of the 2025 Annual Public Works Plan, paving work began this Thursday on Pescadores Street in Mazatlán, in the Arboledas III neighborhood, for which 2.8 million pesos will be invested.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Estrella Palacios said that this important project will soon fulfill the residents’ dreams. Despite living in a residential development, their streets have been unpaved for 16 years.
The mayor said she included this project in the annual plan to bring well-being and safety to the families who live here.
“We’re planning 137 public works projects in 2025 with 236 million pesos. We’ve already completed 120 projects, and not only that, we’re two months away. We’re going to complete all 137 projects, and with savings,” she mentioned.
In announcing the technical details of the project, Martín Gallardo Noriega, Deputy Director of Public Works, stated that 2,868,458 pesos will be invested in the paving of Pescadores Street in Mazatlán. This will include the rehabilitation of 93 linear meters of sewer system, the construction of two manholes, and the replacement of 26 residential drainpipes. In addition, 26 residential intakes and 93 linear meters of drinking water pipes will be replaced, in addition to the construction of 194 linear meters of sidewalk curbs and a paving slab measuring 696 square meters and 15 centimeters thick.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Ms. Lorena Nava expressed her gratitude to Estrella Palacios and publicly acknowledged that she is undertaking a project that will be historic for the people of Mazatlán, especially for them, who have sought this project since 2009, which will ultimately change their lives.
