Raising awareness about the importance of fostering a culture of prevention and self-protection among citizens in the face of emergencies and disasters, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya, along with staff from the Administrative Unit of the Government Palace, State Service Units, and other government agencies, participated in the Second National Civil Protection Drill 2025.

In the framework of National Civil Protection Day and commemorating the earthquakes that occurred in Mexico City in 1985 and 2017, Sinaloa participated in this national drill. This drill aims to prepare both citizens and authorities to face any risk and provide assistance, thereby contributing to creating a safer, more resilient, and more prepared state.

At 11:00 a.m., Governor Rocha left his office for the Government Esplanade, setting an example for the people of Sinaloa, showing the alert message on his phone.

For his part, expressing his appreciation to the staff and their adherence to established protocols, the director of the State Civil Protection Institute, Roy Navarrete Cuevas, noted that, in a time of 6 minutes and 35 seconds, one minute less than the time taken during the 2024 drill, hundreds of public employees promptly evacuated the Government Palace, while Civil Protection personnel toured each office to ensure proper evacuation.

It is worth noting that, by testing the Mexican Government’s National Alert System prior to the start of the drill, millions of telephone devices received an alert message, ensuring that the information reaches all citizens without the need for credit or special applications.

The governor was accompanied by the Secretary General of Government, Feliciano Castro Meléndrez; Pablo Francisco Bedoya, head of the Executive Office; Cuauhtémoc Chacón Mendoza, Coordinator of Social Communication; as well as state cabinet officials.
