Merchant wounded by gunshot during robbery in Mazatlán dies in hospital

The merchant who suffered gunshot wounds to the head after resisting a robbery at a fruit shop in the Loma Bonita neighborhood died Saturday night in a private hospital in Mazatlán.

This Sunday, hospital administrative staff reported the death of a patient admitted with gunshot wounds Saturday morning.

Family members were informed that the patient, named César “N,” 42, was pronounced dead around midnight that same day.

Following the attack, César was taken to a nearby clinic where he was stabilized and then transferred to a private hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Forensic personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office were responsible for certifying the death and conducting the corresponding investigations.
