For the second consecutive day this week, the port of Mazatlán registered intense activity with the arrival of the tourist cruise ship Discovery Princess, which with 5,293 people on board joined the list of vessels scheduled for this month of November.
With 3,743 passengers and 1,350 crew members on board, the port’s entry was registered at 8:45 a.m., so that a few minutes later the disembarkation began.
The Ministry of Tourism in Sinaloa reported that, so far this year, 96 tourist vessels have arrived in Mazatlán, which implies a very important economic spillover not only for the sectors that serve and mobilize cruise passengers, but also for the providers of tourist services and restaurants in the rural area where the ship visitors go.
In the historic center, beaches of the Golden Zone, the Sánchez Taboada roundabout, and various restaurants in the city, the visit of the ship-going tourists was notable, who also had the opportunity to tour the city and its emblematic boardwalk aboard tourist buses, as well as the new attractions such as the Great Aquarium, the Whale Museum, the Museum of the Sailor, without forgetting to admire the lighthouse, the Olivera Carp, and admire the monuments that are on the coastal walk.
According to official information, the Discovery Princess arrived from Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, and is scheduled to set sail at 6:00 p.m., bound for Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.
It should be noted that this Wednesday, November 20, two other tourist cruises are scheduled to arrive at the port of Mazatlán again.
