Vehicle Accident on Sinaloa Highway Leaves Dead and Injured

A passenger bus caught fire after colliding with a trailer on the Benito Juárez highway, near the municipality of Angostura, Sinaloa.

As a result, at least four people died and another 19 passengers received medical attention outside the vehicle, from which they managed to escape through the windows.

The incident took place shortly after midday, in the south to north lanes of the Benito Juárez highway, at kilometer 81+200.

Although the details of the accident have not been specified, the local Civil Protection director, Roy Navarrete Cuevas, confirmed to MILENIO that the preliminary toll would be four people dead inside the bus, while 19 people are receiving attention from emergency services and will be transferred to nearby hospitals.

The vehicle involved is the number 1040 bus of Elite Transport, which was apparently traveling from Michoacán to Tijuana.
