From now on, all administrations will have the obligation to integrate it year after year

MAZATLÁN.- For the first time in the history of Sinaloa, Mazatlán will celebrate the integration of Cabildo Juvenil, a call that has the purpose of making young people aware of political issues that benefit society.

Mayor Édgar Augusto González Zataráin explained that the Youth Council is already institutionalized in the municipality of Mazatlán, which means that it will be mandatory for all administrations to apply it as an activity that arouses the interest of young people to participate in politics.

“Through the Children’s Cabildo, children wake up and understand what a Cabildo means and today young people have the opportunity to know what a council is and to be part of proposals that transform our environment.”

Luis Vargas, director of the Municipal Youth Institute, IMJU, explained that the winners will be announced on August 7 so that on August 12, World Youth Day, they can integrate the Youth Council for the first time.

“We want to do something historic with Cabildo Juvenil and as the mayor says, the objective is to encourage young people to participate in issues that are really important.”

The proposal to create a Youth Council was presented by councilor Roberto Rodríguez, coordinator of the Youth and Sports Commission.

Registration will be open until July 24 and young people between 14 and 29 years of age can participate. If you want to participate you can send your video to the email: imju@mazatlan.gob.mx
