MAZATLAN. – Could Mazatlán be affected if it is not attended to in its growth? The president of the College of Architects of Mazatlán, Gerónimo Alberto Salas Lizárraga, mentioned that if the problems that afflict the city, such as mobility, disorderly growth and obsolete drainage systems that cause sewage overflow, are not addressed as a priority, could see the growth of the port cut short.

Within the framework of the 53rd anniversary of the College of Architects of Mazatlán, Salas Lizárraga highlighted that both they and the commission of mobility councilors are addressing this issue, which is a priority and there are already some proposals, he acknowledged that he has joined to help in the project that can contribute to the solution of these needs.

“There really is a lot of work, a lot of work, but we have to be very careful because we have many problems with both mobility and infrastructure, but it is being dealt with by the municipal authority and we are joining in.”

“On the issue of mobility, it could end up truncating the growth of the city, but work is already being done on that issue, the Alliance of Trucks, Municipal Transit, IMPALM, Roads, among others, will be annexed,” he said.

He indicated that during the pandemic, Mazatlán did not stop its urban development activity, which is why there are other Collages from Cancun to Tijuana that come to see what is happening in the city, to implement it in their city. However, the biggest challenge is infrastructure.

On the other hand, he highlighted that the College, City Council and the Academic Unit of Architects are already working on a preliminary project for a new municipal graveyard in Miravalles.

Already within the framework of the 53rd anniversary of the foundation, he mentioned that, in conjunction with the Faculty of Architecture of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, the First National Congress of Elementary Architecture 2023 was held.
