It is not necessary to go far from the port of Mazatlán to enjoy incredible places, discover some here

MAZATLAN. – It already smells like a bridge! The arrival of February not only brings us Candelaria Day or February 14, but also the first long weekend of 2023.

The first bridge will be from Friday, February 3 to Monday, February 6, 2023, due to the anniversary of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, which is commemorated on February 5.

For this first long weekend of the year, many Mazatlecos will plan an express getaway that allows them to rest and discover new places that are not too far from the city.

But if you still don’t have plans, don’t worry, here at Punto MX we will share some ideas:

Oyster Fair

Take advantage of the bridge and go to the Oyster Fair by Celestino Gasca, in the municipality of Elota. From February 3 to 5, you can taste grilled oysters, in shots, breaded and in ceviche.

They will also have vehicle displays, music, and water and recreational activities for the whole family.

The schedule will be, Friday, February 3, from 2:00 p.m.; Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th of February, he will be there from 9:00 until the last oyster is finished.

The world’s largest shrimp cocktail

Take the tupperware! The largest shrimp cocktail in the world will be in Mazatlán. The assembly of the cocktail will be at the Convention Center, next Friday, February 3 from 4:00 p.m., with free admission for those who seek to witness the Guinness Record.

There will be 1,800 kilos of shrimp measuring 26 to 31 millimeters; the chabela cup will have a measure of 2.25 cubic meters; in diameter will be 1.70 meters and a height of approximately 2.46 meters.

Whale watching

The humpback whale watching season in Mazatlán began on December 8 and will end on March 31, 2023, so for this long weekend reserving seats for observation may be a good idea.

This migratory season is one of the most impressive natural wonders, as visitors witness the various songs that the whales emit and dance underwater to attract potential mates.

Regarding the tours, prices range between $1,500 adults and $1,000 children. Onca Exploraciones and Get your Guide are the most popular in the port.

El Caimanero

Playa el Caimanero, is one of the best beaches in Sinaloa, this because they are really open sea beaches, with many virgin areas. Therefore, it makes it a very good option to visit the next weekend.

What to do there? You can camp on the beach or ride a 4×4 motorcycle through the sand. Another very good option is to take a walk to end with some delicious seafood.
