Urban art that shows the beauty of Mazatlan on the walls of a tourist area

The Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlán, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, pointed out that after the success obtained in the new mural that is on the boardwalk, they will seek synergy with businessmen to do more.

MAZATLAN. – Have you seen the new Mazatlan mural yet? It is on Avenida del Mar, right next to the traffic light that goes down to the Aquarium and shows, in addition to the three islands and the beach, the Mazatlan International Carnival in all its splendor.

Well, this was an initiative from “Your talent, our art”, which sought to rescue spaces that had been vandalized seeking the support of municipal agencies such as SEDECTUR.

The Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlán, expressed that after the results and the success that the mural has had in tourists and locals, they will seek to take it to a specific program, adding businessmen and municipal authorities to capture the beauty of Mazatlan in urban art.

“Let’s devise a ‘Vive Mazatlán’ campaign and we took the opportunity to use this and without a doubt it can be a very good project to give it continuity, above all, to seek to create synergy with businessmen and adopt the bad image that this graffiti can generate in the tourist area and evolve it into a graffiti with art”, he declared.

Velarde Cárdenas mentioned that the association approached SEDECTUR, however, there are other businessmen who have adopted spaces to transform them and make them look good in the eyes of those who are walking on the boardwalk, the Historic Center, and other points of interest.

“Here the issue is that we have to rebound it with the permits and with the owners, I believe that after this success, I believe that if we are going to continue working with this association and replicate this in the tourist areas,” he said.

Whether as a sponsor, with official permits or with the authorization of the space owners to be able to paint, the idea, the state official commented, is that everyone is involved.
