With a digital catalog, the Mazatlán city council seeks to promote the port as a venue for business tourism, as well as its attractions and the connectivity it has.

Mazatlán, Sin. – A new digital tool for the attraction of congresses and conventions was integrated by the Mazatlán City Council, through the Mazatlán Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries.

The “bidding Book” or digital catalog of Mazatlán was presented to businessmen from the Mazatlan tourism sector and the Sinaloa SECTUR, as a contribution from the municipality to sell this destination, which cost about to 400,000 pesos.

The head of the Municipal Secretariat of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries (SEDECTUR), Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, explained that this new strategy intends to provide congress and convention organizers with all the necessary information, so that it is clear to them that Mazatlán is a destination that has it all, and for this reason it is the best option to carry out this type of events.

“There is not much to highlight about the importance of this market in which we all benefit; Until 2019 we had been growing in a very important way with averages of 20 percent annual, we have a very important infrastructure. We have a great product as a destination, with the different attractions that have been added”.

Ricardo Velarde highlighted that Mazatlán, as a tourist destination, is one of the preferred destinations for holding conventions and congresses, since it adds activities in rural areas and new attractions such as the new Mar de Cortés Aquarium.

He also told the businessmen that as new information arrives, the page will be updated, since it is an indication of the mayor Édgar González Zataráin, to work hand in hand with the sectors.

The head of Sedectur said that since 2010, when the Convention Center opened, there was no bidding book with all the information about the destination, and that this document is already on the VisitMazatlan.mx page in the tourism section of meetings so that it can be downloaded, and it has a directory of all service providers, both hotels and restaurants, tour operators, highway routes, air connectivity and attractions, which will be updated continuously.

Those attending the presentation recognized this new digital tool and requested to add an application, include an English version, highlight concerts or festivals, mention the city’s weather, distances between venues and attractions, names of local audio and video providers. , certifications, hospitals and their distances, among other contributions.
