Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Three men and a woman were referred before the Civic Judge for having tested positive for alcohol, but it was not because of the degrees they presented… but because they were unable to pay the fine on the spot.

According to Commander Juan Sergio Camacho Torres, deputy director of Municipal Traffic, the breathalyzer device implemented by the Ministry of Public Safety and Municipal Traffic in Mazatlán, in addition to the Civil Protection Coordination at three different points, reflected this weekend a downward trend in terms of sanctions, positive samples and road accidents.

He explained that during Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 338 tests were carried out, of which 181 drivers, both men and women, gave positive results.

Of that total, the transit commander detailed, 52 people were penalized, while three men and one woman had to be transferred before the Civic Judge for not being able to pay the fine on site.

Camacho Torres reported that four vehicles were towed to the corresponding municipal tow yard, since no sober family member came to deliver the unit, but it was possible to do so with 30 units that were held until a sober person arrived to drive them. .

On the issue of road accidents, he said that there was attention to 13 events in various sectors of the city, with a balance of seven people injured and damages valued at approximately 581 thousand pesos.
