The undersecretary of Promotion and Tourist Operation of Sinaloa assured that with these actions they seek to have full flights in the next winter season.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- To attract more Canadian tourists during the upcoming winter season, they promote the destination of Mazatlán in the different cities of Canada.

The Undersecretary of Tourism Promotion and Operation of Sinaloa, Estrella Palacios Domínguez, reported that they currently participate in the Westjet Trade Shows Expos that take place in Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver.

He explained that in each event they address groups of between 150 and 200 travel agents to promote Mazatlán and Sinaloa as safe, attractive destinations with adequate infrastructure to receive their visitors and try to generate confidence so that they include them in their tour packages.

“ We were already present in the Toronto one, it went very well for us, we promoted and delivered information about the destination so that the agents include us in the tourist packages that they sell ”, he said.

The events in Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver are carried out by the Westjet Airlines company to promote and publicize the destinations and business partners, including Mazatlan, committed to its flight program for this 2022-2023.

In the so-called Westjet Trade Shows Expos, the natural, cultural, and historical attractions of the port are promoted to convince travel agents that Mazatlán is a good vacation destination for their clients.

Airline with the largest transportation to Mazatlan

Westjet is the Canadian airline that transports the largest number of vacation passengers to Mexican tourist destinations, including Mazatlán.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Westjet Airlines had maintained significant connectivity between Canada and Mazatlán, mainly during the winter; Efforts are currently underway to position Canadian flights for the summer season in 2023.
