They remove 215 kilos of garbage from Mazatlán’s El Camarón lagoon

Plastics, glass, paper, among other solid waste, was what was mostly extracted in this cleaning day led by the New Mazatlan Aquarium.

Just over 215 kilos of garbage were removed from the margins of the El Camarón lagoon in an intensive cleaning day organized by the New Mazatlan Aquarium .

The section that was cleaned was approximately 1.4 kilometers, from the beginning of the lagoon, at the height of the Autonomous University of the West , to the CFE substation.

Plastics, glass, paper, among other solid waste, was what was mostly extracted.

The waste was removed with the help of nets, in some parts it was necessary to enter by boat to be able to remove a significant amount of plastics that are regularly blown by the winds and that hide among the bushes , later they were taken to the corresponding deposit.

The El Camarón lagoon is a very important body of water for the new aquarium, since it is part of its immediate environment, so its health and good condition are relevant.
