The Secretary of Economic Development in the Municipality of Ahome, Bernardo Cárdenas, mentioned that the investors are already socializing the project with the governors of the original peoples because it will require indigenous consultation for its installation.

Los Mochis, Sinaloa.- Mexinol Pacífico will be an industry that will use treated wastewater in its process to manufacture methane, for which it will not contaminate Topolobampo Bay or anything in the environment because it is a sustainable project, assured the Secretary of Economic Development ( Sedeco ) in the Municipality of Ahome.

Bernardo Xavier Cárdenas Soto added that the investors are already socializing this project with the governors of the native peoples because indigenous consultation will also be required for its installation.

“I know that they have had a rapprochement with indigenous governors, the most important thing is that they are explaining to them that they do not even mess with the ecosystems, on the contrary, the wastewater goes through a cleaning process, so there is no affectation.”

The Secretary of Economic Development added that the Municipal Government of Ahome supports the industrialization and development of the region and therefore speeds up the procedures for permits and licenses for this company, which hopes to obtain the Environmental Impact Statement from the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat).

Bernardo Xavier Cárdenas Soto considered that once the MIA and all the necessary permits are ready, Mexinol Pacífico could begin construction of its plant in the port of Topolobampo this year.

It is worth mentioning that Forbes, a magazine specialized in business and finance, announced that Topolobampo is considered a priority destination for entrepreneurs in the country, since more than 22 thousand 469 million pesos will be allocated as part of the National Infrastructure Investment Agreement.

In the case of the Pacífico Mexinol methanol production plant, he explained that the AdWinMethanol technology will be used, the most advanced in terms of balance and energy use, in addition, it is the one with the best performance for the production of methanol by reducing emissions of CO2 to the environment.
