For the first time, Del Mar Avenue was illuminated with the celebration of the combat
MAZATLAN. – Between dances, smiles, and much joy, the spectacular fireworks show of the Naval Combat of the Mazatlan International Carnival 2022 was experienced, without a doubt, one of the most popular events of the maximum Mazatlan party.
Traditionally, this event takes place along Olas Atlas, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to respect healthy distance, it was held for the first time on Del Mar Avenue.
From very early hundreds of people were present on the boardwalk to reserve their place and thus be able to enjoy the pyrotechnic show that would end up adorning the coronation of Carolina Pérez as Queen of Carnival 2022.
Shortly after 11:00 p.m., the sky and the sea were illuminated with the spectacle that served to remember the feat of 1864, in which it defended itself from the French attack with national weapons.
It was a great fireworks show to which not even the low temperatures and strong winds prevented both locals and tourists from coming to their appointment on time, this being one of the busiest events of the Carnival with an approximate attendance of 237 thousand people.
There were about 16 minutes of pyrotechnics that fell in love with the Mazatlecos, who once the fight was over, took the road to Olas Altas to continue with the Carnival celebrations, and enjoy live music.
On Saturday the Burning of Bad Humor was held
As is already a tradition in the International Carnival of Mazatlan 2022, “LANAO, the journey continues”, the Burning of Bad Humor was made, which for the second time had to destroy the coronavirus.
The Covid-19 is still in force in the port and in the world, and from 2020 to date, it has mutated into different variants, such as the Delta or the Ómicron.
In 2020, when the pandemic was just beginning, the Mazatlecos decided to burn COVID-19, but what a surprise since the cardboard figure did not burn.
After the coronation of the Carnival Queen, Carolina Pérez, and the presentation of the singer Alejandro Fernández, this traditional event was held and although it was not open to the public for health reasons, the few attendees (media) witnessed what that in 2020 could not be achieved: “Eliminate it” and burn it completely. Could it be that this year the pandemic ends?
The Burning of Bad Humor was held at El Fuerte.
