Mazatlan, Sinaloa. – The municipal president of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, officially announced the project which consists of the placement of 27 to 30 thousand LED-type lamps, with which it seeks to illuminate 360 colonies of the port, which must be duly regularized.

Benítez Torres, recognized that in the tours he has made through different sectors of the city, public lighting has been found as the main problem.

“Lamps are already outdated, they are hardly manufactured, they last a short time, then they burn out and it is an unnecessary cost. These lamps that they are going to give us are guaranteed for 10 years, that is, for 10 years we are going to leave the mayors to come happy and content” he added.

He announced that the next municipal leaders are not going to spend on lamps, nor on maintenance and they are going to have lighting in the city with which they will put between 27 and 30 thousand lamps.

The mayor of Mazatlan clarified that the lights will not cost the municipality a single peso because it is a donation that will be delivered to the municipality of which the equivalent in numbers is approximately 120 million pesos.

“We are not going to buy them, they are going to donate them, it is equivalent to approximately 120 million because each lamp costs around 3,500 or 4,000 pesos each, but I got them donated,” he concluded.
