Around 8:00 p.m. Sunday, the notice was given of the restriction to the navigation of pangas, catamarans and others, due to the increase in the level of the waves on the Mazatlan coast

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- A sea phenomenon has generated an increase in waves in the bay of Mazatlán, for which the Port Captaincy announced the closure of the port to the navigation of vessels under 500 gross tonnage units.

The announcement is made around 8:00 p.m., mainly for local fisheries producers, to prevent any incident due to the strong waves that hit the coastal strip of the municipality; as well as other sports or recreational activities, although these, at least this Sunday, have already concluded.

This phenomenon, explains specialized personnel of the National Meteorological Service of Conagua in Mazatlán, is due to the increase in strong winds in the Pacific area, which would have generated an increase in the level of the waves, it is also presented by the passage of a storm, although in this case, the passage of Hurricane Olaf occurred several days ago, so it is ruled out that it may have originated them.
