Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The state governor , Quirino Ordaz Coppel, the mayor of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres and the secretary of Public Works, Osbaldo López Angulo inaugurated the rehabilitation of a section of De las Torres avenue, located between the colonias Petróleos y Bosques del Arroyo.
López Angulo commented that 13 million pesos were invested in 350 linear meters, which is also complemented by the construction work of the bridge over the Jabalines stream for 28 million pesos.
“There will be greater fluidity to connect Clouthier Avenue with Munich Avenue, this work of 350 meters in length was made two bodies of 9.50 meters each with a parking area, drinking water facilities, drainage and public lighting were added and their sidewalks, “he commented.
Ordaz Coppel pointed out that this avenue will generate a huge dimension with a popular sense by having the surrounding neighborhoods more connectivity and mobility.
“Above all, responding to the growth that Mazatlán is having, anticipating what is coming, more and more works of this type will be required,” he said.
On the other hand, Benítez Torres mentioned that this work will reduce the vehicular load on Munich Avenue and, to complement it, he plans the rehabilitation of the green area on the median to turn it into a linear park.

With the inauguration of Avenida Atlántico by Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel, a 15-year-old lawsuit to create this boulevard was ended, which will serve as a vehicular outlet for Avenida Pacífico, which runs parallel to this new road, in the which 42 million pesos were invested, since it also has a crossing by the railroad tracks.
Accompanied by the municipal president of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres; by the Secretary of Public Works, Osbaldo López Angulo; and by the director of the SCT Sinaloa Center, Refugio Ávila Muro, the state president arrived at this road to cut the symbolic ribbon that puts it into operation and that will serve to vent the traffic that originates in the Avenida Pacífico due to the existence of various school campuses, once face-to-face classes return.
“This is a neuralgic area for the present and future of Mazatlán, because this has been wanted for more than 15 years, this step was a shame that it was truncated due to the issue of the railroad tracks, and of course safety is fundamental ”, He commented.
In this regard, he pointed out that an agreement was reached with the Ferromex concessionaires to build a crossing similar to the one installed on Avenida Pacífico, to avoid accidents, and for this reason he recognized this railway company and the SCT itself for supporting urban mobility that This sector of the city required extensive urban and real estate growth.
Ordaz Coppel stressed that not only were the missing 500 meters of boulevard built, right at the junction of the railroad tracks, but also a perpendicular access road to the Real del Valle subdivision, 200 meters long, was also built. that this avenue was also truncated, as only one of its two vehicular traffic bodies had been paved, and this was possible thanks to the cession of the land by the owner.
The state governor commented that once the optimal connectivity for the Atlantic Boulevard has been solved, what now follows is to build the Delfin Avenue, to close a circuit of roads for this sector.
“This was a work of great benefit for Mazatlán, no one was charged a peso, it is a work of 42 million pesos of a direct contribution made by the State Government, but without charging any individual, because it is for the city , which will continue to be beautified because it will connect with the bike path that comes from Camarón Sábalo and the one that is being built to Los Cerritos ”, he explained.
In turn, the Secretary of Public Works, Osbaldo López Angulo, when making the technical explanation of the work, indicated that this boulevard will vent in a very important way the Avenida Pacífico, which in school season is a very busy road.
It reported that four lanes were built in two bodies of 3.5 meters wide each, sidewalks of 2.80 meters wide and public lighting, a storm crossing under the railroad track using carbon steel pipe, in accordance with the regulations of Ferromex.
