Parents assure that it is preferable to endure a little more in the face of Covid-19 that the state is experiencing
Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The next school year in Sinaloa will begin on August 30, 2021, and will end on July 14, 2022, and after more than a year of taking distance classes, due to the Covid pandemic the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, plans a face-to-face return.
In a survey carried out by El Sol de Mazatlán parents expressed that, although children and young people do not learn the same from home, it is preferable to hold on a little longer, given the panorama that the state is experiencing with the third wave of infections of coronavirus, still much stronger than the first and second, and that keeps it as the only state in the country in red at the epidemiological traffic light.
“I think no if the state and the municipality continue like this, I’m not going to send my children to school, I don’t know who will make the decision, but one as a parent is never taken into account. a girl who is going to kindergarten, another who goes to high school and another to university, and it is the same risk for every one of getting infected, “said Arturo Peralta.
For her part, Yuribia says that when the state goes back to the red traffic light, no one will have the security of sending their children to school.
“On the one hand, it would be good if they returned, because at home they do not want to do anything, but on the other hand I also say no, because the infections have risen again and it is children and young people who are getting infected right now, there is fear Nobody is going to send them to school like that, “he said.
Armando, a high school student, says that it is preferable to return when the probability of becoming infected is minimal and that most young people are already vaccinated since they are the ones who are currently contracting the virus.
“No, as the situation is, I say no, the classes have been very different, we do not learn the same, but right now the virus is hitting young people and minors, I do not think it is the best. There are many who will not want to return for fear and what will happen to them? “he said.
Doña Martha agrees with the Mazatlan people who think that it is not good to go back to face-to-face classes at those times.
“Although it has not been the same performance, that they do not learn the same, I believe that it is not yet time to return to classes, what are we going to expose the children to, they say that we have to get used to living with the virus, but nobody wants to be the first to go, get infected and God forbid, die. “
On the other hand, Arturo believes that they should go back to school, since children still hang out in the street, on the beach, and at parties.
“Well, that’s fine to me, because children are still on the streets, it makes me feel safer at school; they go to parties there, they run risks everywhere.”
