Mazatlán now supersedes Cancun in preference from tourists


According to the tourist promotion platform of Mexico Visit México, from April 1 to 30 of this year Mazatlán occupied the first place in searches, a position reserved until now for Cancun, which occupied the second place, followed by Acapulco, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum.


According to the platform with which the country would face the Covid-19 pandemic to promote each of its tourist destinations and attractions in Mexico, both in the Republic and in the world, the behavior of tourists also leaned During this period, due to the search for Pueblo Magicos “Magical Towns”, which have become highly sought after destinations, however, of the 132 Magical Towns that Mexico has, the preferred ones according to the searches were: San Miguel de Allende, Tepoztlán, Peña from Bernal, Valle de Bravo and Tepotzotlán.

Visit México also revealed the preferences in social networks of travelers, who lean 66% for beaches and 34% for Magical Towns on Facebook; which is reversed on Twitter, because in this social network the balance leans towards Magical Towns by 52% and beach destinations by 47%.

Recently, the Visit México platform launched a contest open to Mexicans and foreigners to win a full year of trips around the country. From April 1 to June 30, 2021, participants must upload their photos on Instagram with the hashtag #InstaMexico and tag @visitmexico.

The winner will be announced on July 14, 2021, through the official Visit Mexico account on Instagram. The platform will contact the winner and will have until July 30, 2021, to present the documentation that proves to be the holder of the winning account and owner of the selected photograph.
