Oaxaca de Juárez.— Rebeca Montaño, a young woman from Oaxaca, won the scepter of ” Miss Teen “, after participating in the Miss Wheelchair Mexico 2020-2021 national contest, held this weekend in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, del January 27-30.

Rebeca, who is also an activist for the rights of young people with disabilities, represented Oaxaca in the inclusive contest organized by the Miss Wheelchair Mexico civil association for the second time.

According to the organization, this contest is held with the aim of “empowering and making Mexican women visible, with a focus on disability and equality.”

After being selected among the six finalists, along with the representatives of Chihuahua, Sonora, State of Mexico, Guerrero, and Quintana Roo, the 17-year-old Oaxacan woman was awarded the “Miss Teen” scepter and invited to participate in the contest of world beauty to select the «Amber Queens», which will be organized by Miss Ambar Mundial Org in the Dominican Republic in April 2021.

In the first edition of this contest, the winner was Libertad Ojeda from Oaxaca, and this year the Miss Wheelchair Mexico crown was awarded to the representative of Quintana Roo, Nayelly Gómez, while Rebeca Montaño was selected as “Miss Teen”. in addition to being among the three selected on the catwalk in ethnic dress
