There are at least three formal accusations against the Morena member for sexual abuse
It is expected that this Sunday, January 31, the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) –– the party of President López Obrador–– will make official the appointment of Félix Salgado Macedonio as his candidate for governor of the state of Guerrero, for the elections of next 6 July. But it’s about a politician accused by several women of sexual abuse.
And precisely because of these accusations, the National Feminist Collective “No aggressor in power” organized a movement in social networks called “Twittazo against the aggressor”, in which, through labels such as # UnVioladorNoSeráGobernador or #NoAgresorEnElPoder, they seek to pressure and make this issue visible.

There are at least three complaints filed against Félix Salgado Macedonio for sexual abuse.
December 28, 2016. The victim worked with the politician for the newspaper La Jornada de Guerrero, when he was director of the newspaper. This woman pointed out in her accusation that in May of the same year she was drugged and raped by the politician when she was at home. He then sexually raped her, he added, repeatedly, including hitting. So that she would not accuse him at that time, says the woman, Salgado Macedonio blackmailed her by sending her husband intimate photographs that he had taken of her. The file was “buried” despite the fact that the alleged victim, who identifies himself by the acronym JDC, ratified his complaint on January 2, 2017.
In another accusation made before the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) at the end of last year, another woman also accuses the Morena militant of having sexually abused her in 1998, when she, with 17 years of age, accompanied her then partner to Acapulco, to a meeting with the politician. She lost her boyfriend so she went to Félix Salgado’s home. Once there, he said, after making sure that his partner was not there, he asked the defendant for a loan of 100 pesos to pay for his return ticket. That’s when the now aspiring rushed at her and raped her. Then he threw the money in her face.

And a third lawsuit was made known in recent days. That was filed, according to Milenio, before the National Human Rights Commission of Guerrero, in 2007 when Salgado Macedonio was mayor of Acapulco. Angelina Mercado, then coordinator of Public Services of the City Council of that municipality, denounced him for sexual harassment, abuse of authority, intimidation, and false accusation.
On January 13, the writer Marxitania Ortega Flores, daughter of the former interim governor of Guerrero, Rogelio Ortega, joined the complaints against Salgado Macedonio. In an extensive Facebook post, the author of “Guerrilla Warfare” reported that the politician sexually harassed her in 2014, precisely during the presentation of said book.
“I have met him only 4 times. One, at the presentation of my novel, at the Acapulco Cultural Center. He was drunk and when he approached me he did it in the worst way, lewd, with an improper hug, to say the least. Do you know what it feels like at times like this? Much disgust ”, says a part of the writer’s testimony,“ is an experience that goes beyond discomfort. You experience a lot of anger that someone feels entitled to touch your body in that way. He did it to me, in a public event, my event, in a position of power. I saw another woman do it, years before, my friend when she was municipal president ”.

A fifth story was released by the Spanish newspaper El País. The victim, a Morena member who asked to remain anonymous, said that during the campaign with which she sought to be a Guerrero senator in 2018, Félix Salgado abused her. “He was very drunk, he took me by the head, he grabbed my hair, squeezed a little, and started to put his tongue in my mouth. I told him: sir, it is not correct, this is not good and I have not done anything to disrespect me. She told me: ‘nothing happens, don’t be bloody,’ was the testimony that this woman shared with that outlet.
As a result of these complaints, also days ago, more than a hundred women sympathizers and militants of Morena sent a letter to the secretary-general of the party, Citlali Hernández, in which they expressed their disagreement with the appointment of Félix Salgado as a candidate for governor of Guerrero.
In the first days of 2021, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador spoke about it, pointing out that the accusations against Salgado Macedonio were products of the election season.

“It is a partisan affair and a product of the season. There is a competition in some states because elections are coming, so all this generates controversy, accusations. (…) Yor the only thing I can comment on is that when there are elections or competition, it is about disqualifying the adversary in one way or another”, He asserted.
Félix Salgado Macedonio, 63, is a politician from Guerrero who joined the ranks of Morena in 2018 and is now seeking to become, with that party, the next governor of his state.
