Concern about the rise in deaths from covid in San Luis Potosí

The state of San Luis Potosí registers a total of 36,983 cases of coronavirus up to Monday, December 14th, after confirming 183 new infections in the last 24 hours. In addition, 23 new deaths were reported, so the total number rose to 3,060.

The Secretary of Health, Mónica Liliana Rangel, reiterated the call to receive immediate medical attention as soon as the first symptoms of Covid are felt, because there is a great risk of dying if not treated on a timely manner.

The state health secretary also asked citizens not to leave home unless it is an essential activity. “It is better to lose a Christmas than to lose a life, Christmases will be many, our loved ones we might lose them forever.”

Of the 183 new cases, 113 were detected in the state capital, 19 in Soledad and 10 in Matehuala.

It was alerted that 9 new infections were also identified among residents of other states who were visiting San Luis Potosí.

In total, there are 86 women and 97 men from 9 to 77 years old infected with Covid and confirmed in the last 24 hours. While 7 women and 16 men from 43 to 87 years old, died from covid also in the last 24 hours. They all belonged to the so-called “Vulnerable Population” (people with chronic degenerative diseases).
