Prohibition, ban, and closure of recreational areas and businesses reflect a void in which those who challenged the measures were not lacking.
Chihuahua, Chih.- A paralyzed city where restriction tapes in public areas, closed doors, and Covid operations were the order of the day was the atmosphere that was experienced yesterday, the first Sunday since the city, and the entire state, they returned to the red light.
However, on this day, there were those who decided to go out to the streets, to go for take-out from restaurants or to go to one of the department stores that remain open.
From an early hour, a certain calm was breathed in the streets of the city, whose mobility of vehicles and pedestrians was clearly perceived reduced in different sectors.
However, like every Sunday, tianguis from different neighborhoods started their regular activities, until the operation made up of dozens of agents from different corporations came as a surprise to them, and despite the confrontations, they were withdrawn.
This was also the case with the businesses that since last Friday, October 23rd, have resisted to close, and that nevertheless had to give in to the heavy hand that has been applied in this return to the red light, in which some have nevertheless made their eyesight fat woman arguing the lack of notifications for different lines of business.
The Historic Center of the city, one of the points that most gather people on weekends, looked half empty, with all the benches and spaces cordoned off, as well as other measures that sought to dissuade visitors, and the boleros also departed given the lack of customers.
“This morning there were no customers,” said Francisco Rascón Montoya, shoe cleaner in the Plaza de Armas.
In this sense, the semi-ambulatory commercial corridor on Fourth Street also had to abide by the measures that for days had cost them closures and altercations with authorities, so on this occasion, they did not risk and kept their doors closed as they are considered non-essential businesses.
Likewise, the recreational parks from La Deportiva to the metropolitan parks of the three dams kept the barricades and even the security guards received support from elements of the Municipal Police to protect the entrances.
TSo this way, with the presence of the police officers, the threats of fines to vehicles, businesses, and pedestrians, that is how the city of Chihuahua managed to reduce urban mobility to a certain degree, especially on a day when most Chihuahuas are resting from work.
