According to various sources, the presidential plane will return to Mexico tomorrow, after taking off from its confinement in California, where it has been located since 2018

Various sources report that the presidential plane, which is located in the United States, will return to Mexican territory tomorrow afternoon, to put it up for sale.

According to preliminary information, the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, will offer details in this regard during the morning conference that he gives from the National Palace.

The TP-01 “José María Morelos y Pavón” aircraft will take off from California, where it has been since December 2018, towards Mexico.

It is still unknown at what time the aircraft will arrive in Mexico.

The objective of the return of the presidential plane, purchased in the previous six-year term, is to put it on sale, to buy medical supplies to equip the Institute of Health for Welfare (Insabi).

So far, none of the offers to buy the plane have been made, despite the efforts of the López Obrador administration to commercialize it.

On July 15, a crew of the Mexican Air Force carried out a test flight on the 48-minute aircraft, in which the plane ran smoothly.

Test flights are carried out with the aim of returning the plane to the country, since international certifications establish that it needs to continue operating to maintain its value in the market.

Jorge Mendoza, direct from the National Bank of Public Works and Services (Banobras), mentioned that in April an offer of 120 million dollars in cash was received for the plane.

“We received an offer in April for the $ 120 million presidential plane equivalent to $ 2.697 billion pesos. In cash and part in medical equipment ”, mentioned Mendoza during a press conference.

However, he did not detail what happened to the offer.
