Hotels and restaurants in Mazatlán will get certified to reopen

The establishments are already working on the implementation of protocols to obtain the certification and thus guarantee health, for the safety of all.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa (May 31, 2020).- “Hotels and restaurants in Mazatlán work on protocols to certify and guarantee a healthy and safe environment in their businesses, to protect the health of workers and visitors, as well as being able to reopen between the 7th and the 15th of June”, declared David González Torrentera, secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fishing in the municipality of Mazatlán.

He added that they are virtually working together with hotels, restaurants, hospitality associations, and state and federal tourism authorities.

He added that at the instructions of the municipal president, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, they are pushing for the tourism sector to be considered an essential activity and for the economic recovery of the port.

González Torrentera stressed that the gradual opening of beaches and other tourist amenities is going to depend on Federal Health Secretariat “Traffic Light” which is currently in red for the state of Sinaloa.

The Secretary of Economic Development of Mazatlán highlighted that June 1 ends the healthy distance campaign in the national territory.

From that day on, the measures will be handled, depending on the intensity of the infections and the traffic lights that the federal government is managing.

The official reiterated that businesses and households must maintain sanitary measures at all times.
