Durango confirms the death of a suspected Covid-19 patient

The second death from coronavirus in Mexico

The government of the state of  Durango reported that this Thursday the death of a 74-year-old person with a history of travel to the  United States was registered and that he arrived asymptomatic in our country on March 3 and reported that the patient was 15 years with hypertension problems.

He explained that the person arrived for medical attention at the IMSS clinic 46   in Gómez Palacio, last Tuesday, March 17, “when presenting symptoms that met the operational definition of  Covid-19 ” and there the corresponding sample was taken and it was isolated according to the protocols established by the health authority, from the patient’s admission and during the time he was in the hospital.

The state government assured that the epidemiological chain is being established with all the people with whom it has had contact and, proceeding with its isolation.

He clarified that they are awaiting confirmation from the National Institute of Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference  ( INDRE ) to find out if death is associated with Covid-19.
