Airlift to Mazatlán over the years has always been one of the destination’s biggest challenges, especially when compared to the multitude of flights to other Mexican destinations like Cancun, Cabo, and Puerto Vallarta. But thanks to Mazatlán’s many recent improvements from before and after hosting Tianguis (international Mexico showcase), the destination is finally being rewarded with more airlift than ever before. Mazatlán may still not get as many flights as those other destinations, but maybe that’s not such a bad thing.  At least more airlines now fly non-stop to Mazatlán from Canada, the United States, and Mexico than in previous years, which is great news for tourists who want to experience the Best of Mazatlán!

Here are the best airlines to checkout for direct flights to Mazatlán from Canada and the U.S.:

CANADIAN AIRLINES The Canadians have been loyal supporters of Mazatlán for many years and the destination’s popularity only continues to grow.  So it’s no wonder that the country is offering more direct-flight options than ever before.

WESTJET When you think of flights to Mazatlán from Canada, you most likely think of WestJet.  WestJet has been a longtime friend and partner to Mazatlán and has been bringing Canadians here for years.  WestJet continues to offer direct flights from Calgary and Vancouver to Mazatlán.

SWOOP Swoop is the “newbie” airline in Canada and its offerings of new direct, low-cost flights from Abbotsford and Edmonton open up some new markets for Mazatlán

SUNWING Sunwing offers vacation packages which include airfare, accommodations, and meals with participating Mazatlán hotels.  The airline offers flights from Regina, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec.  You can also just book the airfare if you don’t want one of the hotel packages they offer.

U.S. AIRLINES United, American, Alaska and Sun Country are the four airlines that offer flights from the United States.  The cities listed below offer non-stop direct flights, but check with the airlines for flights from other cities that fly to Mazatlán but with one or two stops.  Many fly through Los Angeles (LAX) or through Mexico City.

AMERICAN American offers direct flights from Dallas and Phoenix year-round.

UNITED United offers direct flights to Mazatlán from Houston during the season.

ALASKA AIRLINE Alaska offers direct flights to Mazatlán year-round.
