“The economy will grow in 2020,” said President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who announced an informational meeting before the end of the year, about the strategy that his administration will apply to boost economic growth, reports Notimex.

“We will grow in 2020, conditions are created, there are unbeatable conditions to grow for all the favorable indicators said the head of the federal executive during his press conference this Wednesday at the National Palace.

He explained that the forecasts of the rating agencies are more optimistic after the 20 percent increase to the minimum wage, the signing of the Trade Agreement between Mexico, the United States and Canada USMCA (T-MEC) and the agreement for the National Infrastructure Plan with entrepreneurs Nationals

“Before the start of the year, we will have this meeting to publicize what the strategy we are going to apply to boost economic growth will be. How are we going to allocate public investment, what is going to be done with the agreements with the Private Initiative, how are we going to remove the obstacles so that the investment flows and growth can take place, ”he said.

López Obrador hoped that the T-MEC will be approved this week in the United States Chamber of Deputies, although in the Senate of that country it will take a little more time, and in the case of Canada he considered that it will end up being approved, but the signature will be postponed for next year.

“The government of Canada or the party that is in the government does not have a majority in Parliament, however, opponents who have a majority agree on the approval of the treaty, there is consensus in Parliament,” the Mexican president concluded.

AMLO dismisses alarm in the private sector due to insecurity

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador ruled out that from the business sector there is some kind of alarm about the problem of insecurity in the country, and said that a decrease in the theft of cargo transportation on the roads has been achieved.

“There is no alarm because it is affecting companies, businesses or transport, of course, there are crimes that are committed and there is a problem of insecurity and violence, but there is no alarm situation that is known by the business sector,” he said. .

During his press conference on Wednesday, López Obrador said there are no reports of companies that have closed in the current administration due to violence, although transporters have requested protection on roads for cargo transportation.

“In what has been more demand, it is in the care of road transport and we have reached agreements with carriers, a decrease in the theft on roads of freight transport has been achieved,” said the president.

In turn, the Secretary of Public Safety and Protection, Alfonso Durazo, said that since the beginning of this year, a joint program with the chambers of commerce began, which, he said, has worked because crimes on the roads have been reduced.

“Since the beginning of the year we had a joint program designed with the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) and all the chambers, particularly the transport and others.

“The truth is that it has worked, we have achieved good results. Of course, this does not mean that there has been any robbery, it means that they have been falling sensitively, and this has deserved recognition from the participating business organizations themselves, ”Durazo said.
