From November 11 to 15, the Mazatlan Aquarium will hold the “Meeting of Children for the Conservation of Birds” for 19 occasions.
The main objective of this event is to promote the knowledge of the species in schoolchildren, so that they value the existence of each one of them, since they play a very important role for the ecosystem, as mentioned by María Ángeles Cruz Morelos, coordinator of the department education in Mazatlan Aquarium.

“Without community, there is no conservation, we need to echo with the children, we are on a right path taking this message to the community, it is a safe step but we are moving forward,” he said.

One hundred girls and boys in the sixth grade of primary school in different communities of the state of Sinaloa will participate in talks, crafts, games, songs, focused on bird conservation.
Meanwhile, the director of the Mazatlan Aquarium, Pablo Gerardo Rojas Zepeda, pointed out the importance of being participants in the bird and turtle conservation programs.
Rojas Zepeda stressed that SEMARNAT will grant them a certification of the wildlife research center.

“The SEMARNAT in the coming days will give us the certification as a wildlife research center; we are giving care and giving shelter to the species that bring us, we are expanding our facilities because we could receive species from anywhere in Mexico, ”he explained.
