According to preliminary data, a subject approached the Van in Puerto Morelos in the direction of Playa del Carmen. Along the way, he pulled a submachine gun from his backpack, to hit all the passengers and then steal their belongings.
Subsequently, the armed subject orders the Van driver to return to Puerto Morelos and then get off at kilometer 315 of the Playa del Carmen-Puerto Morelos highway section and decided to take a tourist hostage.
