The president of the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic, Gustavo de Hoyos, warned that although the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador  call them “conservatives”, the businessmen will continue “on foot” with the Amparos interposed to prevent the construction of the Santa Lucia airport and avoid losing the black work of the suspended Texcoco airport.

The business leader said the decision to cancel the work is a serious case of abandonment of work in the federal government, an act that he described as damaging against the largest public heritage in the history of this country, he said.

“No president has deliberately made a decision for himself with this cost, not one, not even the worst president we had in the past,” he said.

He questioned the billionaire losses of resources due to the suspension of the work that drove the administration of former President Enrique Peña Nieto and said that if the current government has failed the country to do something, it is in breaching the confidence to invest.

“That is why, even if he doesn’t like it, even if he gets angry, even if he calls us conservatives, even if he calls us legal saboteurs, we have promoted the Amparos so that this work does not flood. That is why we are in the fight, ”he said.

In directing a message to the young cadres of National Action, the business leader accused the President of lying about the continuity of the work.

“Let me tell you that the President today lied to us repeatedly because there have been or are dozens of offers for this great work to be completed,” he said.

De Hoyos said that the current government received a country with the best opportunities to grow but, he said, today there are not the best conditions to invest.

“No president in the contemporary era of our country received a country with better opportunities to grow, which was very important beginning in 2000 with President Vicente Fox it was a set of conditions for the country to do well. “

He recalled that in 2018 when the agency received López Obrador as a presidential candidate, he himself asked if he could continue the construction of the airport if it was financed with private funds and if yields were then generated for the Government. “And the answer was yes, like that, yes,” said the businessman.
