Mexico City announces schedule for Mexico Independence celebrations

The Independence of Mexico will be commemorated this 2019 with the Festival Culturas de México in the Zocalo of Mexico City, which will take place prior to the traditional shout, from 4 pm on September 15.

The festival will feature representative artistic samples from each state of the Republic that will be presented according to an order that was raffled on Tuesday during the morning conference of the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. 

It will be at 9:30 p.m. when the national chain broadcast of the festival will take place in the Zocalo. At 23:00 hours the chief executive will give the cry of Independence and at the end, the celebrations will close with a concert of Mixe music, mariachi of the Armed Forces and the presentation of Eugenia León and the El Limón Band.

The Festival Culturas de México will be broadcast through the Public Broadcasting System, through which historical capsules and a documentaryabout the causes of the armed struggle led by Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla will be disseminated in 1810. 

It will be a kind of great public class. Zoe Robledo, head of the IMSS and member of the Presidential Commission for the Commemoration of Facts, Processes and Historical Characters of Mexico

On the other hand, at the Los Pinos Cultural Center an artistic festival will also be held from 1:00 p.m. It will count with the participation of several sound leaders in the country and will include a tribute to Celso Piña, who was included in the cultural program. 

September 16 parade

As for the military parade that takes place on September 16,  there will be, in addition to the traditional contingents of the Armed Forces, with representations of the historical moments corresponding to the three transformations of the country: Independence, the War of Reform and the Revolution.

They will also parade allegorical cars with the artistic representations of the 32 states of the Republic.
